Location site: Salem Health, 665 Winter Street SE, Salem, OR 97301 Department: Information Security Position type: Full Time, 40 hours/week, Exempt Schedule: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday Your role with us As an information security analyst II at Salem Health, you will contribute to the design and implementation of information security solutions, troubleshoot complex security incidents, and support compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires strong technical skills, analytical abilities, and attention to detail, as well as effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders. You will work closely with the information security team to identify and mitigate security risks and promote a culture of security awareness. What you'll do
- Contributes to the design and implementation of information security solutions based on customer and organizational requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and security best practices.
- Participates in assigned project tasks and designated information security projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver results.
- Maintains an accurate and well-documented ticket queue, ensuring timely resolution of security incidents and requests.
- Provides comprehensive documentation around area of support based on department and organization standards, promoting knowledge sharing and transparency.
- Monitors, audits, and improves Salem Health's compliance with the HIPAA security rule, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Coordinates and performs information security software or hardware maintenance tasks according to vendor and industry standards, minimizing downtime and security risks.
- Designs security and user access controls for Salem Health's information systems, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data.
- Resolves complex information security incidents and assists other analysts in resolving incidents, providing expert technical support and guidance.
- Provides input into developing standards and requirements for new information security products and services, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and security best practices.
- Stays up-to-date on industry developments and provides input on plans for improvement and program maturity, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
- Communicates the importance of information security policies and procedures, promoting a culture of security awareness and compliance.
- Identifies and corrects root causes of information security incidents to prevent future recurrence, driving continuous improvement and risk reduction.
- Assists in reporting security analysis results using multiple tools, providing actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Configures and installs new information security-related hardware and software, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience, where relevant work experience can substitute for formal education (e.g., 4 years of experience equivalent to an associate's degree, 8 years equivalent to a bachelor's degree).
- Relevant work experience can also be demonstrated through well-respected security-related certifications, such as CompTIA Security+ (1 year of experience equivalent) or higher-level certifications like CEH or CISSP (2 years of experience equivalent), with a maximum of 2 years of experience credited from certifications.
- Minimum of three years of experience in IT, healthcare, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of experience in the specific technology or knowledge field related to this position.
