The Town of Needham is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a summer position as a Student Intern working in the Accounting Department. The ideal candidate is a college student actively seeking their degree in governmental studies, finance, or accounting with a future interest in serving the public sector. This is a temporary position, scheduled to work up to 37.5 hours/week for no longer than six months.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Perform clerical duties and other administrative tasks
- Responsible for data entry, checking AP batches, entering W9s
- Filing and boxing up old records
- Maintaining excel spreadsheets, account reconciliations and other related duties

Requirements

The following requirements may be substituted by any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job:
- College student with courses in Governmental Studies, Finance, or Accounting
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and organize tasks and duties
- Prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Infinite Visions is desired
