Senior Accountant

Growing biopharmaceutical company is looking for a Senior Accountant to cover for the current Senior Accountant going out on maternity leave.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for:



  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Perform account reconciliations and flux analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close activities by analyzing financial data and preparing necessary reports.
  • Work with large datasets in Excel, utilizing advanced functions to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements to maintain financial integrity.
  • Assist with audits by preparing supporting schedules and documentation.


This position is 5+ months with potential for extension and possible conversion. The organization consists of collaborative and extremely bright team members who are passionate for science and discovery. Competitive salary and benefits during contract duration. They prefer someone who could come into the Cambridge, MA office but also open to remote. There is some flexibility with hours between 20-40 hours per week, one week out of the month will be 45-50 hours per week.

Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA
  • 4+ years of accounting experience, with 2 years of experience in Big 4 public accounting
  • Experience with posting journal entries, preferably in SAP S4/HANA ERP system
  • Prior public accounting experience and knowledge of internal controls/SOX is preferred
  • Comfortable working in excel and large sets of data
  • Responsible for preparation of account reconciliations and flux analysis to support month end and quarter end accounting close
