Base Compensation Range: $110K - $135K

*In addition, you qualify for:



  • Annual bonus opportunity of 15% based on company performance

This position supports our Protein Technologies business. Gyros Protein Technologies provides automated systems for protein analysis and peptide synthesis solutions that accelerate the discovery, development, and manufacture of biotherapeutic drugs.

Job Summary

Responsible for supply chain, assembly, manufacturing, QC and shipping of GPT Tucson products including peptide synthesizers, consumables, plus the machine shop and the Tucson facilities. Responsible for the manufacturing equipment and other infrastructure associated with the operation.

Duties/Responsibilities



  • Comply with company ethics, code of conduct, policies, and best practices, with a commitment to safety in the workplace, valuing of diversity, and promotion of a harassment-free environment.
  • Responsible for the division's Operations footprint in Tucson, AZ.

    • Daily operation of Instrument manufacturing, Machine shop, Quality control, and Logistics.
    • Responsible for the Facility maintenance, i.e. the ongoing management, repair, and upkeep of a building and its infrastructure.
    • Liaison with Procurement/Sourcing daily
    • Develops a Customer-centric partnership with the business unit team
    • Continues Lean Manufacturing Transformation.


  • Embraces and drives The Mesa Way by promoting and facilitating the establishment and use of lean tools, including but not limited to:

    • Customer and a critical few mindset
    • Lean conversion & visual daily management and problem-solving: processes
    • Lead & facilitate Kaizen activities and coach at Gemba "the real place - where work happens"
    • Implementation of standard work processes (in production and transactional standard work)
    • Follow a continuous improvement approach for team accountability for achieving high performance SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) targets through a visual work environment

      • Passionate focus and role model on safety programs
      • Constantly prioritizes quality and demonstrates customer empathy




  • Build world class Quality Organization & Processes to meet new and existing regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.


Experience/Education

* Bachelor's degree in engineering, Operations, Supply Chain or related field from an accredited university, required.
* MBA preferred
* 10-15 Years of leadership experience in an assembly-based manufacturing environment with 5+ years in manufacturing leadership
* Life Science or Medical Device experience preferred
* Lean manufacturing experience required
