The Video Security & Access Control group at Motorola Solutions designs, develops, and manufactures video analytics, network video management software and hardware, surveillance cameras, and access control solutions. Avigilon's solutions have been installed at thousands of customer sites, including school campuses, transportation systems, healthcare centers, public venues, critical infrastructure, prisons, factories, casinos, airports, financial institutions, government facilities, and retailers. As a Unity Access Sales Engineer, you will bring elite technical expertise and act as a subject matter expert to address complex challenges in protecting people, property, and assets. You will work closely with the Access Control sales team and channel partners, delivering solution-based outcomes powered by edge-based neural networks and industry-leading public safety and physical security technologies.

In this role, you will foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture alongside fellow Sales Engineering peers. Your attention to detail and contributions will ensure that the solutions we provide empower our customers to perform at their best in the moments that matter.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver world-class product demonstrations and compelling sales or technical presentations to audiences ranging from C-level executives to frontline decision-makers.

  • Provide design consultation, including quoting, system design, best practice architectures, bill of materials development, and compliance vetting.

  • Collaborate with sales leaders to align your sales engineering efforts with quarterly and annual revenue goals

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners through technical thought leadership and strategic engagement

  • Partner with Technical Support leadership to facilitate post-sales guidance and manage escalations as needed

  • Serve as the key liaison between partners, end customers, and internal teams (product management, marketing, engineering) to provide valuable feedback and drive continuous product improvement

  • Step in to support SE team peers when necessary

  • Develop collateral such as training materials, how-to videos, and technical documentation.

  • Stay up to date on MSI products, services, complementary technologies, industry trends, and relevant certifications by proactively seeking training opportunities.

  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership

  • This role will be responsible for the Central United States or as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in Physical Security Industry, Sales Engineering/Pre-Sales role for a technology company.

  • Strong understanding of the Access Control solutions.

  • 2+ years installing, servicing, supporting Physical Security solutions for a manufacturer or Security Systems Integrator.

  • Self-motivated and focused individual with a passion for technology and an aptitude for customer satisfaction.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Possesses strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Has a pleasant, friendly style of verbal and written communication.

Technical:

  • Intimate knowledge and experience with Windows troubleshooting tools and techniques.

  • Knowledge and experience with Linux OS Troubleshooting tools and techniques

  • Excellent knowledge of networking principles and IP communication.

  • Experience with computer hardware configuration and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with network equipment configuration and troubleshooting.

  • Basic understanding and Experience in low voltage circuits and wiring

Preference will be given to candidates with one or more of the following:

  • College degree or diploma of technology.

  • Prior experience in physical security industry, specifically with Access Control solutions.

  • Microsoft and/or Cisco certifications.

  • Certification for any competitive Access Control Products (Lenel, SoftwareHouse, AMAG, RS2, S2, Open Options etc...).

Territory

  • The Sales Engineer shall have the responsibility to cover the following Unity Access territories:

    • Central US (IN,KY,WI, MI,IL,ND,SD,NE,OH,IA,KS,MO,,WI)

Target Base Salary Range: $67,100 - $148,400 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
