Elma Electronic Inc. is seeking a motivated Manufacturing Process Engineer Intern to join our Operations Department. This intern will be r esponsible for supporting manufacturing activities that include, but are not limited to Process engineering and optimization, ERP data analysis, data cleaning, data preparation, trouble shooting, corrective action, and training personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze new ERP data structure using partner company to map legacy ERP data to new ERP system
  • Prepare data files, import data, conduct ERP testing, and exporting data for further refinement
  • Manage data extractions to analyze manufacturing processes (route/traveler operation sequence) and perform data cleansing exercises
  • Identify consistency between routes and BOMs to align with business processes
  • Perform time studies of manufactured parts and update route date accordingly
  • Problem Solving: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex manufacturing issues and contribute to root cause analysis
  • Create routings and or BOM's to fit companies requirements
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records, document process changes, and develop standard operating procedures (SOP's) as needed
  • Training and Education: Participate in training sessions and workshops related to manufacturing or ERP topics
  • Work with Project Managers to develop project plans, set goals, and establish key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Process Engineering and optimization of manufacturing automation process leading to increased productivity, reduced lead-time and cost
  • All other duties as assigned



Skills & Abilities:

  • Basic concept of manufacturing processes
  • Must be able to read and interpret manufacturing drawings
  • Must have good data analytic skills
  • Must be computer literate with good expertise in excel and other MS suite applications
  • Power BI knowledge is a plus
  • Knowledge and experience with an ERP system or PLM system is a plus
  • Sheetmetal fabrication and machining knowledge is a plus
  • Team player


Education and Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing engineering, or a related field.
  • AS with 0-3 year's work experience as a Manufacturing engineer in a directly related product line/Industry.
