Overview
The Project Manager is accountable and responsible for the overall project planning, organizing, management, supervision, coordination and administration of all capital projects associated with Transmission Lines, Distribution Lines, Substations, Telecom facilities and associated work in order to achieve project completion on budget, on time, as per agreed scope and with proper risk and quality management. The Project Manager is expected to multitask and diligently handle multiple projects competing for resources with competing timelines and objectives to be achieved together. This position is expected to have the ability, skills and experience to handle multiple large scale and large value complex projects at the same time. This position supports the Organization through the planning and delivery of project work through all phases of new capital projects. This includes interaction and collaboration with the Operations team members with all applicable support services including contract admin, finance, and program management. This position is responsible for all planning, monitoring, tracking of schedules, costs, risks and quality, supervising and reporting on project deliverables including external contractors. The Project Manager manages assigned projects from the proposal stage through project completion. The Project Manager will ensure appropriate resources are assigned to the project and manage resources through the completion and issue of client deliverables on time and on budget as dictated by project scope and schedule. Responsible for managing project budget and schedule via the change management process and keeping the project accounting system current with project contract value and estimate at completion values. The Project Manager will maintain a high degree of external and internal customer service via clear and timely communication and project reporting.
Responsibilities
- Project proposal development for projects of medium complexity and support of the PMs in complex project proposal development including:
- Ensure a clear understanding of project scope and terms
- Facilitate the proposal development including, project execution plan, estimation, compilation and on time delivery ensuring all requirements are met
- Ensure proper management review and approval of all field service proposals
- Facilitate a legal review by TRC Legal Staff prior to contract signing
- Project financial management, including:
- Ensure the project's budgeted costs and profits are met or improved.
- Ensure timely and comprehensive change order management.
- Establishment of and maintenance of project cash flows.
- Facilitate efficient project billing, working within company's accounting practices.
- Understand the requirements of Quality Control Program and ensure appropriate time, resources and schedule milestones are included in project planning and adherence during project execution.
- Project schedule management including the development and upkeep of project schedules for projects of medium complexity.
- Project administration including the proper capture and filing off all project documentation including, contracts documents, invoices, meeting minutes, project reports and communications.
- Effectively communicate to the client, project team and TRC management including timely accurate internal and external reporting, executing effective efficient project meetings and ensuring communication between all project disciplines.
- Support business development related to project capture and build successful client relationships.
- Identify and manage risks on projects.
- Change Management of Scope, Costs and Duration changes in a project.
- Managing large portfolio of projects.
- Responsible to lead project teams in successful execution of projects of a medium to large complexity, acting as primary project advocate and point of communication.
- Manage up to 15 contractors and coordinate with over 50 resources indirectly.
- Safety Oriented ensuring safe work and safety of everyone.
- Ensure contract policies - practices are followed to; ensure the Company achieves the accepted intent of agreements, have methods to manage change/exceptions and properly protects the Company from failure risks.
- Lead the project team by running meetings and working collaboratively on deliverables and issues, and providing regular updates.
- Provide support to incident investigation as and when required.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Project Manager role.
- Solid Understanding of Earned Value Analysis and Management for monitoring, tracking and reporting of project progress updates.
- Project management Professional (PMP or PgMP) training and experience would be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills to deal with internal/external clients.
- Strong attention to detail to quality control the projects and submit required deliverables.
- Be familiar with major substation and transmission components.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects of medium to large complexity.
- Knowledge of, and experience with: Project Management and Project Controls.
- Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as needs dictate.
- Expert knowledge in Project Controls - scheduling, tasks development, WBS, Costs, Estimating, Risks and Reporting.
- Strong ability to develop and deliver effective presentations and facilitate meetings as related to strategy, training, and collaborating with various stakeholders.
- Excellent, organizational, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Proven skills in Project Execution and Contractor Management.
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making abilities.
- Work with limited supervision. Track / monitor / report on various deliverables. Prioritize and organize own work. Excellent time management, organizational and planning skills. Attention to accuracy and detail.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, MS Projects, Primavera P6, Computer based Earned Value Management, Cost Control, Schedule Control, Resourcing management, Risk Management, Project Management Tools.
- Valid Driver's License.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors. Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range
USD $100,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
