Primary Purpose:

Oversees the safe, efficient, and economic operation of the Intermodal Terminal through the effective supervision of railroad and contracted personnel. Must be willing to relocate after training period based on business need.

Principal Duties:



  • Monitors contractor employees to ensure they operate at standards and goals established by Norfolk Southern Management.
  • Oversees ramp operations, processes and verifies drayage bills, and directs Transportation officers as to switching requirements and assists various Customer Service groups.
  • Maintains contact with the facility when on duty and not on property to ensure proper and uninterrupted operation.
  • Assists and acts for manager as directed in the operation of the Intermodal terminal and keeps the manager informed regularly of any problems relating to terminal operation status.
  • Maintains proper office clerical procedures.
  • Oversees contractor employees operating vehicles/equipment on property, protects against theft and conducts investigations of all accidents and personal injuries in the absence of manager.
  • Oversees the proper handling of shipments covered by United States Customs Regulations and for handling hazardous materials in accordance with Federal Regulations.
