What You Will Do
- Provides day to day support for the operations of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure environments supporting VNS Health's applications and services, which includes the administration, operational support and problem resolution of building and maintaining Cloud Based solutions.
- Manages relationships with managed services providers for AWS, Azure, network, and service desk support.
- Schedules all patching of Cloud based servers. Provides proof of patching reports as required for audits and certifications.
- Acts as a technical resource to other IT staff in the design, construction and deployment of cloud applications and services. Assists in assembling of the required documentation and procedures needed to support deployed cloud applications.
- Manages the intake and fulfillment of AWS project and services requests. Assists in coordinating the scheduling of cloud engineering resources to build and configure AWS project requests.
- Provides support, coordination, approval and impact assessment for change management initiatives.
- Provides generic AWS services using standardized scripts and processes. Resizes AWS servers and space allocations as required to fulfill service requests and business growth.
- Monitors and manages AWS usage charges by reviewing monthly billing data. Schedules and manages the automated shutdown of resources within AWS to minimize cost for underutilized services.
- Manages and performs scheduled testing of the disaster recovery procedures and processes. Generates reports required for audits and certifications.
- Participates in the capacity planning and systems performance evaluation within the group.
- Monitors all cloud environments and applications that support business and clinical functions to ensure all of the needed AWS services are available and performing correctly. Manages the escalation and resolutions of all AWS service issues. Performs root cause analysis and assist in identifying and implementing corrective action.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Licenses and Certifications:
- Any Cloud based certification such as AWS sysops, DevOops, or Solution Architect preferred
- Windows or Linux Certified Engineer preferred
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related discipline or the equivalent work experience required
- Master's Degree preferred
Work Experience:
- Minimum of three years' experience in systems operations and administration, telecommunications network installation, operation and maintenance required
- Experience in enterprise level IT projects and Cloud based technologies (PaaS, IaaS, and Cloud Infrastructure Services) required
- Effective consultative, communication and analytical skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, other systems technical staff, consultants and vendors required
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (both written and verbally) with technical staff as well as management team. required
- Extensive working knowledge of various AWS technologies and Services (e.g. EC2/StorageGateway/SMS/ Route53/ S3/ Cloudformation/ ELB/ ASG/ VPC/ DirectConnect/SES) required
- Familiarity with Networking, Virtualization, Storage, and Cloud Automation required
- Experience using SharePoint & Office 365 required
- Prior experience with building dynamic infrastructure within AWS or Azure required
- Prior experience in supporting one or more cloud infrastructure migration projects required
- Solid understanding of DNS, Active Directory, and other LDAPs solution required
- Experience implementing cloud migration strategies and requirements identifying impediments and developing mitigation plans and migrating large scale virtualized environments to AWS/AZURE cloud required
- Experience with one or more Programming or Scripting languages (i.e., Python, PowerShell, Bash, AWS CLI) required
- Experience using various development tools such as Visual Studio Code, Git, GitLab preferred
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline preferred
- Experience with application monitoring tools such as Nagios preferred
- Experience deploying and managing web applications using Tomcat preferred
Compensation$98,200.00 - $130,800.00 Annual
