Position Description
ERT is seeking a Junior Cloud Programmer Analyst to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Will review, analyzes, and modifies programming systems built on on-prem and Cloud infrastructure including encoding, testing, debugging and installing to support an organization's application systems. Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.
Required Skills
- 5 + years of experience working in an AWS environment
- Experience working in an AWS environment
- Experience in configuring various AWS services such as S3, Simple Notification Service (SNS), Simple queuing Service (SQS)
- Experience with the serverless approaches using AWS Lambda
- Experience with programming languages, such as Python, Perl, IDL, R
- Knowledge of Issue Tracking tools and Agile development tools such as JIRA
- Knowledge and Experience in Agile development methodology
Desired
- Experience with monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch and the ELK stack
- Experience with RDS, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB and data modeling
- Experience working with GitLab
- Experience with Docker and container orchestration systems (Kubernetes) using ECS, EKS
- Strong understanding of security best practices (using IAM Roles, KMS)
- Knowledge of writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using CloudFormation or Terraform
- Knowledge of various satellite data types
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related discipline, or equivalent. Advanced degree preferred.
Location
This position is located on-site at NSOF in Suitland, MD. Some telework may be permitted.
Salary
The salary range for this role is $62,000 - $275,000/year. This range is a good faith estimate based on similar roles across the organization. ERT considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including the location, scope, and associated responsibilities of the specific position, as well as a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
