HealthPartners is hiring a Supervisor, Eye Operations. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the HPMG eye care clinics located within the Twin Cities metro area, with particular emphasis on supervising employee performance. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Responsible, in conjunction with the other Eye Operations Supervisor(s), for the Optometry support staff or the Ophthalmology technical support staff at Arden Hills, Bloomington, Como, HSC, West and Woodbury Eye Care and at any new HealthPartners eye clinics. Supervises the technical support staff, which includes the authority to hire, transfer, lay off, promote, discipline and discharge, train, reward and review performance of employees. Ensures compliance with organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Supervises staff within the context of HealthPartners Human Resources policies and collective bargaining agreements. Creates staffing schedules and takes staff sick calls. Mentors technical staff leads and holds them accountable to performing lead duties Analyzes clinic processes, flows, and procedures with an improvement mindset. Supports the Director and department leads in changing as needed to meet corporate and department policies. Holds self and staff accountable for meeting high standards of care and service to all patients, customers and members. Assists patients, customers, and members with quality of care and billing issues related to a MD or OD visit, documenting in HealthPartners' systems as appropriate. Organizes department trainings as indicated. Oversees and resolves departmental billing issues and payments with Accounts Payable and vendors. Approves contact lens invoices, both paper and in the WebNow system, and ensures that they are sent to AP in a timely manner. Oversees POS daily collections processes for the contact lens department. Performs needed edits in the POS system for contact lens issues. Approves staff myTime (payroll) and ensure employee's time is recorded accurately. Ensures staff maintain certification and supports their educational advancement to sustain a highly trained staff. Works with IT and Clinical Engineering for Clinical Equipment needs. Understands and can navigate through the Optical Point of Sale System. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Business, Health Care or related field or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree. Staff supervisory/leadership experience or experience working in an eye care setting. Strong problem solving and analytical skills Strong presentation skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proven ability to work with physicians and patients Excellent customer service skills Ability to lead, mentor and motivate employees Ability to manage resources and staff within budget requirements Ability to work in a management team environment PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Eye care work experience Experience leading in a union environment Process improvement experience |
