About Us

Honor Foods is seeking a Director of Transportation Strategy & Planning to join our growing team. This senior-level role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that optimize transportation operations, ensuring cost savings, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

Lead the optimization of our regional transportation systems into a unified national network, including inbound manufacturer shipments, outbound customer deliveries, and intra-company shuttles.
Oversee transportation teams across all company locations, ensuring top-tier management and efficiency.
Collaborate with fleet and compliance staff to meet equipment needs and ensure adherence to federal and state DOT regulations.
Develop and implement transportation strategies, annual operating plans, and budgets that support both current and future business objectives.
Create a long-term strategy to reduce costs, maximize routing efficiency, increase backhaul utilization, and minimize reliance on outside carriers.
Foster a strong safety culture across all locations with a focus on continuous improvement and accountability.
Provide leadership, guidance, and constructive feedback to management teams while promoting a strong company culture.
Work closely with the Sales Department to create efficient, profitable delivery routes.


Skills & Qualifications

10+ years of experience in transportation management, with at least 7 years in a leadership role.
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience required.
Strong knowledge of DOT Hours of Service regulations and transportation management software.
Proven ability to develop and manage budgets, motivate teams, and drive continuous improvement.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to inspire, provide feedback, and maintain positive employee relations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analytics.
Willingness to travel up to 75%. This role requires frequent travel.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.


Physical Demands

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 100 lbs. occasionally.
Ability to work in varied temperatures, including freezing conditions.
Must be able to wear appropriate PPE and handle products that may contain allergens.
