DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position functions as the Developmental Services Program Director of Intake and Eligibility and is responsible for analyzing, evaluating, coordinating, and directing the development of local developmental services program areas related to referral, intake, and eligibility. This professional works with the DS Deputy Administrator, DS Administrator, and the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) to develop policies, procedures, goals, and objectives that ensure the quality of Intellectual Disability and Autism Programs. Within this role, you will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with the AE Operating Agreement, all state and federal laws and regulations, and ODP publications. We are looking for an enthusiastic leader with excellent interpersonal skills, as you will be supervising Program Specialist 1s and 2s in addition to providing training and developing service standards.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Remote and field work are part of this position.
  • Occasional need to work or attend meetings after hours or on weekends. Compensation will be provided.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week, upon successful completion of the 6-month probationary period and submission of the county application for telework. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Greensburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a County Intellectual Disabilities Program Specialist 2 (local government title); or
  • Five years of professional experience in the field of intellectual disabilities, including three years of administrative, supervisory, or managerial work, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes five years of professional experience in the field of intellectual disabilities, including three years of administrative, supervisory, or managerial work.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Westmoreland County. If no eligible candidates who live within Westmoreland County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation.
