Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Echo Sonographer - Non-Invasive Cardiology - Full Time Days - Non-Invasive Cardiology - - 01:00 PM.

In this role, the successful candidate Under general supervision and following established policies and procedures, performs and records ultrasound diagnostic tests of patients cardiac anatomy and function.
Ensures ultrasound test is of acceptable quality and records results of tests. By performing all tasks in an efficient, responsible and caring manner, the employee will be dedicated to meet the needs of our patients and our staff. They will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care with respect to the special needs of each patient age group served as well as those with disabilities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Collects patient data by involving the patient, family and other health care providers.
• Reviews chart and/or prescription for testing indication.
• Demonstrates awareness of the special needs of each age group or culture served as well as those patients with disabilities.
• Assists physician during other related procedures such as transesophageal echocardiography.
• Maintains a safe and hazard free work area.
• Operates equipment according to department and manufacturer's recommendation.
• Maintains and practices Universal Precautions and OSHA regulations that apply to job performance.
• Performs appropriate patient monitoring
• Explains testing procedure to patient and family.
• Adapts positioning to meet the needs of the patient.
• Selects appropriate transducer settings, adjusts equipment controls to obtain optimum imaging.
• Observes sound wave display screen as scanning device moves over patient's anatomy to detect pathologies and check for factors such as function, valve pathology and so forth. Determines if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
• Records and Digitally clips visual images of cardiac anatomy
• Performs and prints 2-D, m-mode and doppler measurements.
• Completes Syngo Workflow for completion of examination
• Recognizes hazards to patient safety and takes action to maintain a safe environment.
• Utilizes Syngo Dynamic for preparation of study for physician interpretation

• Proper hand-off conveys confidence that patient and family concerns have appropriately been conveyed and that there will be a continuity of high level of care and competency.
• Greet patient with a smile, identify ourselves, insure proper identification of the patient and reiterate to them the test they are having.
• Hand-off is taking the patient to the next level (ie: stress to nuclear, echo, catheterization lab holding to 4 South, transporter to unit, etc). Transition includes introductions to the patient, complete information and understanding of patient status, completed forms, physical assessment if applicable.
• Informs patient of next steps and thanks them for allowing us to care for them today and asks if there is anything else needed before leaving the patient.
• Working together to benefit the patient experience; communicate, collaborate, take ownership and treat all in accordance with the hospital's core values.
• Discusses echo findings with physicians if necessary
• Provides care that demonstrates ethical beliefs and respect for patient's rights.
• Demonstrates and participates in activities that support customer satisfaction
• Accepts feedback from peers and management for the purposes of improved patient care and/or department function.
• Participates in and supports collaboratively decisions made by management.
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of the principles, policies and procedures specific to the department and the institution.
• Fulfills the annual requirement regarding continuing education.
• Complies with staff meeting attendance requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Knowledge of anatomy and physiology at a level normally acquired through completion of two (2) years post high school education in an allied health science such as nursing or sonography.
Knowledge of ultrasound techniques and procedures and familiarity with sonography equipment as normally acquired through completion of six to twelve month ultrasound training program.
Should be registered or registry eligible with ARMDS, American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, RCS or SDMS (Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography) or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International).
Approximately three to six months on-the-job experience in order to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of policy and procedure.
Analytical skills to effectively detect pathologies based on knowledge of physiological cause and effect of disease.
Must be able to push and pull equipment on wheels with variable weight.
BLS Certification
Continually lift/carry up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift/carry more than 75 lbs.
Continually push/pull up to 25 lbs and occasionally push/pull more than 100 lbs.
Occasionally bend, squat, and reach above shoulders.

The salary range for the role is $85,419.36 - $108,619.68 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
