The Civil Engineering Practice is seeking a Project Engineer in Tustin, CA.

As a Civil Engineer focused on site design, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and managing various aspects of land development projects. This role requires a strong foundation in civil engineering principles, proficiency in relevant design software, and the ability to contribute to project success through innovative solutions.

What You'll Do Key Responsibilities:

Site Planning and Design

  • Apply civil engineering principles to develop comprehensive site plans for various projects.

  • Conduct site layout, grading, drainage, utility design, and other site development activities.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations and codes.

  • Facilitate the permitting process and coordinate with regulatory agencies as needed.

Technical Proficiency

  • Utilize design software (such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD) to create detailed plans and drawings.

  • Perform calculations related to grading, stormwater management, and utility systems.

Client Interaction

  • Work closely with clients to understand project requirements and objectives.

  • Provide regular updates on project progress and address client concerns or inquiries.

Project Management

  • Develop project schedules, budget estimates, and identify critical milestones.

  • Coordinate with project teams and other stakeholders to ensure timely and successful project delivery.

Quality Assurance

  • Conduct thorough reviews of design plans to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.

  • Implement quality control measures throughout the design process.

What You Bring Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, with a focus on site design projects.
  • Proficient in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and other relevant design software.
  • Strong understanding of grading, drainage, utility design, and site layout principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients, team members, and regulatory agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license

    • The posted salary range represents the typical range for this position and is provided in accordance with applicable state and local transparency laws. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
