The Opportunity:

You will play a pivotal Engineering role in the Enterprise Data, Analytics, and Shared Services team. This role's responsibilities span all the platforms and tools enabled by the team, for use by all GTO Portfolio teams and Global Business groups. Technical deliverables influenced by the person in this role include data models, data products, data engineering, data operations, data science, data analytics and data visualization.

This role is an engineering role - the person evaluates multiple technology options, assesses their relative technical strengths and weaknesses to then decide on the optimal tool for Mattel's use. On occasion, the person will roll up their sleeves to code or debug. Decisions made by the person with skill have long term implications for Mattel and GTO. This person will also play a key role in systems landscape simplification and modernization - identifying alternate technology solutions and architecting solutions to deploy. The person in this role also enables tools and design patterns for DevSecOps for multiple applications and portfolio project teams. Using CICD pipelines enabled this person, multiple projects move faster through the SDLC phases. Lastly, the person in this is the go-to technical SME for any operational issue with the platforms and tools - he/she resolves technical issues.

Partner with other leaders to aid and influence Mattel's enterprise data and analytics technology architecture and roadmap. You will work closely with multiple IT peers, business partners and sponsors to architecture and engineer strategic data and analytics solutions that enables a data-driven organization to compete effectively and excel in the marketplace.

What Your Impact Will Be:

* Leading and owning the Technologies involved in Data Management, Data Engineering, Data Products and Data Integration for use in BI, Reporting, Integrations, Analytics and AI for Mattel's Global Technology Office (GTO).

* Developing and maintaining a technology platforms and tools architecture and roadmap

* Design and setup technology frameworks to be used by all development teams that use a specific technology component

* Simplifying the platforms and tools landscape used by ED&A SS and broader GTO - to setup the organization for the future, with smoothly retiring legacy tools

* Providing direction and leadership to a small data engineering team to perform analyses and manage technical platform.

* Leading the development of CICD pipelines for key technical components in the GTO landscape

* Guide all GTO Technology teams on DevSevOps concepts and the use of CICD for all SDLC phases

* Partnering with other Directors and leaders in the ED&A and GTO teams to:

- stabilize and operate smoothly the data technology platform and tools

- partner with Enterprise Architecture teams to maintain an optimal and effective technology and tools portfolio

- consolidate and continue to build a connected enterprise data platform

- lead and influence the evaluation and selection of technologies and tools that will further the GTO Strategic Roadmap

* Lead a technical team to enable all services of Mattel's Cloud based data platform by supporting the following components:

- GCP Cloud services and tools for data; like Big Query, Composer, Cloud Storage, GKE, and others

- data pipeline and ETL tools like Ascend, DBT, Alteryx, Knime and Dataprep

- establishing the technology framework for data pipelines with systems like Oracle EBS-Financials, Oracle EBS-Supply Chain, Salesforce, PLM software, Workfront, and other applications

- setup and operationalize GTO shared tools like Kafka, Python, Gitlab, GitHub, and Jira/JiraAlign

What We're Looking For:

* Experience: 15+ years of IT and technology experience including a minimum of 5 years of IT leadership and strong people management experience in areas of responsibility and in similar roles (broad-based, senior level) within a comparably sized company.

* Experience: 10+ years of data technology platforms and software, specifically on Cloud platforms

* Proven data literacy - the ability to describe business use cases/outcomes, data sources and management concepts and analytical approaches/options.

* Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.

* Preferably proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading IT transformational initiatives in complex and dynamic environments.

* Ability to analyze and understand complex technology concepts and summarize them for various stakeholder groups, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to other GTO leaders

* Ability to motivate people and team members, instill accountability and achieve results

* Strong product and services vendor relationship and assessment capabilities to identify and leverage new capabilities and tools features to enhance capabilities that support business objectives

* Ability to work well with all levels of the organization.

* Ability to make decisions and recommendations on complex issues and present to Sr. Management

* Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken

* Good time management and organizational skills - ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments concurrently

The annual base salary range for this position is between $182,000 and $225,000.
