POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Manager will work directly with the Director of Human Resources and members of the Pepper leadership team to provide HR services including recruitment, onboarding and employee relations. The HR Manager works effectively with all levels of employees, possessing a values-driven perspective, honest and fair feedback, is clear in communicating and is committed to helping team members learn, grow and succeed at Pepper.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Lead the campus recruiting process, for the Ohio market, while ensuring all Pepper opportunities are highlighted.
  • Coordinate, manage, and continuously evolve the internship program
  • Develop collateral, social media presence and internal communications around campus recruiting and the intern program in partnership with the marketing department
  • Assist in furthering relationships with colleges and universities, their faculty and student organizations in order for Pepper to attract talent
  • Recruit, both through the job board and with external recruiting partners, to identify and hire top talent - ensuring active communication and high touch through the process
  • Identify opportunities to highlight particular job opportunities to garner additional candidate flow
  • Actively participate in the new hire onboarding process at the local office to ensure continuity of messaging, timeliness of program elements taking place, and overall flow to ensure an excellent experience for new hires
  • Partner with the safety team on matters pertaining to drug and alcohol free workplace, workplace accidents, and related items
  • Coordinate and assist with company sponsored internal functions that span both Ohio offices; actively team with other designated leaders in overseeing the Events Committee
  • Ensure the HRIS system (Dayforce) is maintained to track, disseminate, and house accurate employee information
  • Produce EEO and other reports, as requested or directed
  • Assist employees with questions, concerns and issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Manage the front desk team member to ensure that role is heard and supported
  • Partner with other Ohio HR team members to assist and support for continuity of work and processes
  • Work with peers across geographic subsidiaries to support companywide policies and procedures
  • Perform other job-related duties as necessary



POSITION REQUIREMENTS:




  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related degree required
  • 8+ years experience in Human Resource with progressive responsibilities
  • Knowledge of the commercial construction, engineering, or architecture industry preferred, but not required
  • S/PHR and/or SHRM-S/CP certification, preferred
  • Recruiting and college recruiting/intern program management experience, preferred
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
  • Ability to effectively manage time, multi-task and pay close attention to details
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain confidences with a high degree of confidentiality, required
