JOB TITLE: Interplant (CDL) Driver PLANT/DEPARTMENT: All Locations DIRECTED BY: Warehouse Manager IMPORTANT WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Plant Management, Purchasing, Inventory, and Plant Production. DIRECTS: None PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Transfer of products and inventory items between the Norway Warehouse and all TMS-HEG manufacturing facilities. MAJOR DUTIES: Adhere to traffic safety regulations, exercise caution in treacherous circumstances and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions to supervisors. Assist in unloading cargo when delivery sites are understaffed, maintaining product quality throughout conveyance. Contribute to company data by accurately recording times of delivery and hours worked. Perform safety checks of brakes, steering column, lights and mirrors prior to each leg of journey to ensure road readiness. Follow and maintain loading protocols, using chains and binders to secure cargo and re-checking their stability throughout trips. Use GPS to stay informed of route information and communicate pick up/delivery times with supervisors and colleagues. Other Duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE PREFERRED/SPECIAL NOTES: CDL License Two years of experience working as a CDL driver with no legal or safety incidents on record. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
