POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager, Data Management will oversee the data lifecycle. You will design and implement efficient data management systems, ensure data accuracy and security, analyze data to draw conclusions, and report findings to upper management for use throughout the organization and demonstrate value. The Data Manager need to work closely with various teams, including engineering, analytics, and business units. Coordinating these efforts and ensuring everyone is aligned can be difficult.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate database analysis, design, and information flow with Information Systems resources.
  • Function as a data steward in assuring data is fit for intended purposes.
  • Define appropriate metrics and methods to measure the quality of data.
  • Define quality standards and business rules for data management.
  • Work to resolve data quality issues.
  • Document metadata including data definitions, data flows, data quality metrics, and business rules.
  • Write technical specifications and scope documents for developers to implement projects and follow through the life cycle of IT projects.
  • Coordinate project management activities and provide leadership in the design, implementation and maintenance of data management systems and documentation.
  • Manage implementation of Information System solutions.
  • Assist information users including data architects, data analysts, and business leaders in understanding the relationships between data, processes, and outcomes to identify areas of potential improvement and support department goals; and
  • Provide training, maintenance, and monitoring for data applications

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in data management or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of PowerBI
  • Knowledge of Epic
  • Knowledge of SQL Server
  • Knowledge of Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, and Kanban
  • Knowledge of cleaning, analyzing and visualizing data in R or Python scripting language
  • Knowledge of database analysis, design, and information flow
  • Knowledge of handling tickets and requests in ServiceNow
  • Knowledge of Single Sign-On application
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW)
  • Proficient communication skills to translate complex problems using non-technical terms.
  • Proficient time management skills and the ability to work towards meeting multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to compile and organize findings and data retrieved before presenting it to management.
