Job Title: ODA/Certification Project Engineer II Department: Engineering Reports to: Senior Certification Manager, Processes and Designee Location(s): Philadelphia, PA, USA 1. Summary of Position: (Brief description of overall responsibilities and function) Responsibility for ensuring that the ODA processes, procedures, and training comply with the FAA Order 8100.15 and 14 CFR 21.183. Position requires versatility to include high level understanding of aircraft design, analysis, testing, system safety, manufacturing inspection, FAA regulations and project management. Monitor Designated Engineering Representatives (DER) or ODA Unit Members (UM) workloads, schedules, and allocations. Support Technical Leaders to resolve certification issues through discussions with authorities/UMs/DERs. 2. - Qualifications for Position:
A. Education
BS degree in Engineering or related. MS degree is preferred. |
B. Experience
1. |
3 to 5 years experience in aircraft certification projects in technical or project engineering capacity. |
2. |
Knowledge of all phases of aircraft design, testing, system safety, approval, FAA certification, manufacturing, inspection, service and continued operational safety. |
C. Competencies & Attributes
1. |
Knowledge of 14 CFR Part 21, 25, 27, 29 and 183 regulation and associated policies. |
2. |
Understanding of the FAA certification processes. |
3. |
Project engineering including planning, tracking, and managing complex projects. |
4. |
Knowledge of the ODA requirements and the FAA Order 8100.15. |
5. |
Attention to details and organizational skill. |
D. Licensure/Certification
Project Management certification is desired. |
