Description

Waukesha County Technical College, in partnership with the national search firmScott Healy & Associates, invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean, Enrollment Management. Waukesha County Technical College seeks a dynamic and strategic professional to lead student recruitment and enrollment initiatives. This position is crucial in shaping the college's admissions strategy, driving student recruitment, admissions, and enrollment, while ensuring an exceptional experience for prospective students. The Dean, Enrollment Management will oversee the recruitment team, manage admissions operations processes, and develop partnerships with local schools, businesses, and workforce development agencies. This position reports to the Associate Vice Provost, Student Affairs.


Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive enrollment management plan aligned with WCTC's mission and strategic goals.
  • Provide institutional enrollment management leadership with emphasis on the early stages of the student life cycle, including recruitment, admissions, and initial onboarding.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to set and evaluate student recruitment, admissions, and retention policies and practices.
Departmental Oversight
  • Direct and oversee the operations of Admissions Operations, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and Recruitment/Engagement.
  • Supervise, motivate, and coach a team of enrollment professionals to achieve enrollment targets.
Data-Driven Decision Making
  • Utilize data analytics and predictive modeling to enhance enrollment management initiatives.
  • Analyze enrollment trends and advise College leadership on adjustments to recruitment efforts or enrollment goals based on local, state, or national trends.
  • Work with Institutional Research to develop market demand analyses and enrollment forecasts for academic programs.
  • Monitor key performance metrics related to inquiries, applications, and enrollment, and prepare reports for college leadership on recruitment trends and effectiveness.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Foster strong partnerships with academic departments and other college units to ensure a cohesive approach to enrollment management.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with high schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders to support recruitment efforts.
Innovation and Technology
  • Leverage technology, including CRM systems (Banner and Slate), to improve enrollment processes and communication with prospective students.
  • Stay current with enrollment management best practices and implement innovative strategies to meet enrollment goals.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in enrollment management, preferably in a two-year institution of higher education
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience managing professional staff, preferably including management of managers
  • Strong understanding of admissions, financial aid, and student records processes
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with data analysis and strategic planning
  • Evidence of innovative and creative problem-solving to address complex student needs
  • Strong ethical judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information
  • Adaptability and resilience in a changing regulatory and educational environment
  • Collaborative leadership style that empowers team members and campus partners
  • Student-centered mindset with a focus on service excellence and accessibility
  • Ability to manage multiple functional areas effectively through direct and indirect reporting relationships
