Reports To:Manufacturing Supervisor

Position Type:Full-timeShift:2nd

Hours:Monday - Thursday, 3:30PM - 2:00AM (4 10s), Overtime as required

Pay Rate: $18/hour; additional bonuses available

SUMMARY

The CNC Operator 1 maintains and observes machine operation to ensure accuracy and quality of workpieces.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Maintain a safe work environment to make certain MIOSHA safety rules and regulations are followed.
  • Execute daily production schedule.
  • Follow work instructions.
  • Clean and maintain machine and parts to keep equipment in optimal production conditions.


  • Observe machine operation to verify accuracy of machine settings, and detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, by using precision measuring instruments including a micrometer and caliper.
  • Conduct quality inspections using calipers, tapes, height gauges, check fixtures, and drop gauges.
  • Consult with quality assurance, and inspect work pieces throughout the production floor to identify out of tolerance machining.
  • Act as Quality Assurance Representative for the fabrication department.
  • Count, weigh, and record number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
  • Follow and comply with ISO quality procedures.
  • Follow blueprint guidelines/job order as instructed by supervisor.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area.
  • Consistently meet production standards as outlined by the production schedule, and manager without compromising quality and/or safety.
  • Must be able to handle high stress situations.
  • Must be able to interact in person with peers and management.
  • Maintainregular and predictable attendance.
  • Performother related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (required)
  • Minimum 1 to 3 months related experience and/or training (required)



SKILLS AND ABILITIES

* Knowledge of inventory software and order processing systems.

* Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

* Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.

* Lifts, moves, or positions materials weighing up to 50lbs.

* Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS




  • Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat and outside weather
  • Routinely work in noisy environment
  • Routinely exposed to moving and mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock
