Overview
Summary The Head of Corporate Finance plays a crucial role in shaping and executing the financial strategy for Griffis Residential ("the Company") and its affiliated entities and Funds. This position is designed with succession in mind, ensuring readiness to assume expanded responsibilities within senior leadership, potentially progressing to the CFO role. Key areas include fiscal strategy, risk management, legal oversight, and investor relations, supporting the Company's growth and stability.
Responsibilities
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
: Drive financial planning and analysis to include annual corporate planning and budget process, providing insights to shape organizational strategy and align financial goals with long-term growth objectives.
- Operational and Compliance Oversight: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, guiding the Company's response to industry changes, and aligning financial strategies with corporate governance and compliance mandates. Supports Chief Compliance Officer and Risk and Compliance Manager with investment advisory-related compliance initiatives as required, including the monitoring of investment obligations to certain institutional investors and the monitoring and organizational rollout of new regulatory policies and procedures
- Investor Relations: Strengthen relationships with investors by maintaining high standards of communication, transparency, and responsiveness to enhance trust and confidence. Leads efforts regarding financial and risk due diligence needs of prospective limited partners with the investor relations team
- Private Fund Management: Oversee fund formation and regulatory filings in partnership with legal counsel and internal stakeholders including the drafting and execution of all documents and necessary regulatory filings
- Risk Management and Legal Coordination: Collaborate with the Risk and Compliance team to monitor investment obligations and implement regulatory policies; maintain open channels with external legal counsel on business issues.
- Acquisitions and Dispositions: Provide financial underwriting support and due diligence for property transactions, partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless transactions.
- Reporting: Supports the timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting for stakeholders of the Company
- Supports Chief Compliance Officer and Risk and Compliance Manager with investment advisory-related compliance initiatives as required, including the monitoring of investment obligations to certain institutional investors and the monitoring and organizational rollout of new regulatory policies and procedures
- In collaboration with the CFO, maintains Company compliance with all legal and business regulatory requirements while monitoring all open legal issues involving the Company and other legal issues affecting the industry
- Assesses current business processes and systems and identifies opportunities to streamline and simplify in order to improve productivity, efficiency, and responsiveness
Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required
- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance and/or an MBA is preferred
- CPA is strongly preferred
- 12-15 years' experience, ideally in financial management within the real estate and/or private equity sectors
- Experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) functions, including forecasting and reporting, is preferred
