Location:Lee Memorial Hospital -2776 Cleveland AveFort Myers FL 33901 Department: Sterile Processing Work Type: Full Time Shift: Shift 1/5:00:00 AM to 1:30:00 PM Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate:$28.83 - $38.92 / hour SummaryReports to the manager of Sterile Processing. The Operating Room Liaison (ORL) is responsible for building relationships between the sterile processing staff and facility administrators to ensure timely communication and problem resolution. The ORL is the point person in making sure equipment, surgical instrumentation and surgical supplies are in place for every surgery and solving any problem that could arise related to a missing or dirty instrument or a scheduling mishap. The ORL will manage case flow during their shift and notify the Sterile Processing Department in advance of additional needs. Problem solve/bring supplies, equipment or surgical instrumentation in real time to ensure surgical procedures begin on time and all needs mentioned above are met. Assist with the planning and coordination of instrument turnarounds and communicate with the surgical team regarding information that may affect surgery start time. Review the surgical trays for accuracy and resolve any discrepancies that may arise. Performs data analysis to understand trends and identify operational issues within the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Department. Ensures quality of care by assisting the Sterile Processing Department in the cleaning and maintenance of instrumentation as needed. The ORL will assist the Surgical Services Specialist, OR Nurse Manager and SPD with Preference/Procedure card accuracy. They will consistently review the preference/procedure cards to identify missing or redundant instrumentation, surgical supplies and/or equipment. Facilitate efficient case flow to include communication with the OR staff to ensure availability of specific instrument and supply needs and transport of appropriate instruments to the designated cleaning area as needed. This position promotes customer service satisfaction through training, education, and resolution of staff and physicians. RequirementsEducation: Associates degree or Certificate from an Accredited Surgical Technology program required. May accept equivalent combination of experience and education as outlined below. Certification: Must have, or obtain, SPD certification through CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) or HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) within 12 months of hire. Certification must be maintained per renewal schedule. License: Must maintain valid FL drivers license, vehicle insurance and be available to operate a vehicle as needed to meet courier needs. Other: Requires thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and is capable of learning software programs and/or hardware as required. Requires Smart Phone knowledge. US:FL:Fort Myers |
