Job Summary
The Dorman Products Application Development team is looking for an experienced Development Manager with a focus in Business Intelligence.This role will oversee activities from an internal development team, along with external partners providing staff augmentation and project resources. The ideal candidate will be someone with experience in both custom development and development within commercially available systems and platforms. This person also is someone that can work cross functionally with other groups in the IT department and with key contributors within the business. The candidate would play an active role in defining the appropriate systems and enterprise architecture within their domain and work closely with other technical and solutions architects within the department. The technology landscape for this candidate includes SAP Data Services, SAP HANA, Microsoft SQL Server, SAP Business Objects, Qlik Sense, and Power BI. These applications provide critical reporting and integration solutions to the business. They interface with the Dorman ERP and planning platforms, third-party applications (on prem and Cloud), and disparate data systems. The candidate will be responsible for code quality and management within the landscape and its ongoing evolution to a continuous development model. The individual will be an active contributor in shaping the future application development approach at Dorman. While this role is a people leader, it is expected that the candidate is someone that can be very hands on when needed. This may be in the form of prototyping or quick discovery work before assigning tasks to the development team. This role also requires someone that can develop and review detailed technical designs to support various project efforts. There will be some project management expectations for smaller enhancement efforts that this resource will also be expected to manage. Being able to flex from hands on in code to management of people and small projects is key for this role.
