DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position you will review and evaluate educational institutions and training programs as a Veterans Education Advisor in the Division of Veterans and Military Education. This office is responsible for approving programs at colleges and universities, community colleges, business and trade schools, flight schools, barbering and cosmetology schools, and career and technology centers for veterans and their eligible dependents to utilize their GI Bill benefits in covering all or some of the costs while pursuing their educations. This includes training programs such as registered and non-registered apprenticeships and other on-the-job training programs, as well as licensing and certification programs. You will plan and schedule your time between office and field work, review applications from various programs, conduct site visits to program locations, and prepare formal responses and reports related to the approval or disapproval of each facility. Work also involves conducting risk-based surveys and supervisory visits, and when necessary, initiating action to correct any discrepancies found. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position is home headquartered.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Five years of professional experience in education, vocational education, or educational administration or closely related experience involving planning or conducting training or educational programs in industry, government or schools, and a bachelor's degree; or
- Four years of professional experience in education, vocational education, or educational administration or closely related experience involving planning or conducting training or educational programs in industry, government or schools, and a master's degree.
Other Requirements:
- You must live in or be willing to relocate to one of the following counties within six months of employment: Philadelphia, Montgomery, Bucks, Delaware, or Chester.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
