PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Warehouse & Distribution Supervisor at the Ocala, FL plant will be responsible for all warehouse, storage, and shipping processes. They provide technical leadership in the resolution of warehouse problems effectively communicating with all levels of the organization to include internal customers and suppliers. This position helps to implement organizational strategies, standards, and practices to achieve best-in-class performance. The Warehouse & Distribution Supervisor will develop and document all new processes, as well as review and modify where necessary existing processes.

Reports to: Plant Controller

Span of control: 11 Primary Employees (Ocala Warehouse & Shipping)


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Leading in Safety

    • Provides a safe and secure work environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
    • Ensures a clear and effective measurement system is followed and used to drive results; rewards and celebrates safe behavior and achievements; ensures accountability
    • Participates in work area self-inspections and accident investigations as well as recommends corrective actions to make the workplace safer
    • Leads and supports safety initiatives and processes to drive towards zero recordable injuries


  • Lead Warehouse Operations

    • Leads, supervises, and coordinates warehouse operations and workforce
    • Conducts shift huddles to communicate daily action plans, company news, and safety information
    • Communicates with carriers and customers to achieve necessary business outcomes
    • Manages inventory controls
    • Sets up and maintains material storage plans (locations, blocked storage, quality issues, material on hold, FIFO etc.)
    • Develops expert knowledge and usage of electronic plant systems including, but not limited to: SAP, WMS, and UKG
    • Enforces housekeeping and 5S expectations to warehouse team
    • Supervises and assists in taking physical finished goods inventory
    • Monitors employee relations and resolve employee issues and problems
    • Demonstrates the ability to develop and meet key milestones, to work and communicate effectively with people at all levels within the organization, and to technically contribute to the development of the process solutions
    • Applies statistical methods/data analytics to estimate future manufacturing requirements
    • Performs safety audits and Job Hazard Assessment (JHA) reviews
    • Utilizes the Warehouse Management and computer systems to perform administrative functions
    • Coordinates shuttle activity with spotters and shuttle drivers including stock analysis for inventory needs/capacity by location
    • Oversees transaction integrity in SAP
    • Communicates warehouse issues to management (internal and external)
    • Embraces and enforces all safety practices established for the operation
    • Identifies and initiates cost savings/ productivity improvement opportunities
    • Drives FIFO inventory process, stacking pattern adherence and picking from correct bays
    • Audits all outbound and inbound shipments for accuracy and compliance to policies
    • Site contact for outside warehouse/spotting issues


  • Lead and Develop Talent

    • Ensures a positive, creative, diverse, and collaborative work environment where employees own the success of the business
    • Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities to constantly elevate the capabilities of our employees
    • Establishes clear and measurable performance expectations and holds direct reports accountable for delivering goals
    • Actively participates in the growth and development of self and others to achieve sustained success
    • Documents, counsels, and coaches for corrective action when performance issues occur
    • Conducts regular performance management process with employees
    • Participates in recruiting, interviewing, and screening processes for warehouse candidates
    • Plan and conduct warehouse employee onboarding and training plans.


  • Lead Across the Site

    • Drives alignment between plant departments
    • Shares best practices, challenge thinking, and provide candid and respectful feedback; set an example for the organization of how teamwork and partnerships should work
    • Be seen as a great leader across the plant, driving engagement and supporting cross-functional projects and teams





JOB REQUIREMENTS

Additional Requirements:



  • Must have good computer skills and Microsoft experience, SAP (ERP) system experience is very desirable
  • Experience in storeroom, warehouse or sourcing related functions


  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Must be able to perform basic math skills.
  • Must be able to work overtime as business needs dictate.
  • Bilingual preferred in Spanish and English


Education/Experience:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business preferred, Supply Chain or Logistics OR five (5) years of Warehouse Leadership experience
  • Minimum of four (4) years of related work and supervisory experience
  • Must have good computer skills and Microsoft experience
  • SAP (ERP) system experience is very desirable
  • Must have strong internal and external customer service skills
  • Supply chain certification preferred (CPIM, CSCP, CPM) preferred.
  • Previous experience utilizing an inventory management ERP system.
  • Experience utilizing computer programs and Microsoft Office products.
