POSITION SUMMARY:

The Rental Associate will provide exceptional guest service by assisting guests with the selection and setup of downhill and enduro bikes. They are responsible for demonstrating a high level of knowledge of rental equipment, including bikes and protective equipment to give informed suggestion to rental guests. In addition, the Associate will also be involved in regular daily maintenance, setup and testing of equipment. They will follow all Winter Park policies and procedures, all applicable laws (federal, state, and local), and all health and sanitation codes.

WAGE:

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of Winter Park Resorts hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Winter Park Resorts total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.

Hourly pay range: $19 - $21

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain a friendly, congenial, and helpful attitude when dealing with guests.
  • Select and setup rental equipment for guests, while mitigating risk and following all liability policies.
  • Perform tasks efficiently and safely to provide a quick and positive experience for rental guests, including, but not limited to: daily maintenance and cleaning of all equipment, safety inspection of bikes prior to guest pick-up, and damage checks at time of return.
  • Rental Associates must be open and willing to learn how to perform continual maintenance and upkeep of rental equipment including: tire and tube changes, shifting and brake adjustments, damage assessments, bolt checks, full safety inspections of all bikes, and thorough bike washes
  • Comply with required risk management and indemnification procedures as well as other rental shop practices and procedures including: forms, documentation, and records, post-accident reporting, and consistently following essential safety protocols.
  • Know all products, services and prices offered in the rental shop as well as being familiar with those of the resort. *Clinics and Training will be provided.
  • Foster an attitude of teamwork and cooperation within other rental team members and resort departments.
  • Perform upkeep and maintenance in the rental shop and on tools and machinery as needed.
  • Maintain neat, clean, and well-organized shop.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Bike Rental managers, assistant managers and supervisors.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSING:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimal experience working with bicycles preferred
  • 1+ years of customer service
  • Basic computer functionality required
  • Interest in bikes and biking
  • Willingness to learn technical aspects of bike maintenance and set up.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 50 pounds on an regular basis.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.
  • Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time sitting, bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling on an occasional basis.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
