Inova Health is seeking a Division Chief of Anesthesia. We are seeking an experienced, motivated and world class Anesthesia Leader to join our team and serve our communities and our 5 current hospital locations- Inova Fairfax, Alexandria, Mount Vernon, Loudoun and Fair Oaks. Our Anesthesiologists support and work in partnership with a robust CRNA team 24/7 in coverage with our Surgery and Anesthesia teams. The Division Chief will work collaboratively with the Operations team, Hospital Administration and CRNA leadership to carry out the Group's mission of maintaining a mutually respectful work environment, leading by example and a sharing a genuine passion of providing excellent patient care. - System-wide Leadership: Oversee and guide anesthesia practices across multiple hospital and ASC sites within the system, ensuring consistency in care delivery and clinical outcomes.
- Strategic Planning & Coordination: Collaborate with hospital leadership and department chairs to align anesthesia services with organizational goals, including budget planning, resource allocation, and growth strategies.
- Clinical Governance: Ensure adherence to clinical standards, policies, and protocols across the system, fostering quality and safety in anesthesia care through regular audits, reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor and analyze anesthesia-related outcomes across the system, addressing any variance in performance, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Policy Development & Implementation: Develop, implement, and enforce system-wide anesthesia protocols and guidelines, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.
- Financial Oversight: In partnership with the Administrative Director of Anesthesia, manage the budgets and financial performance of anesthesia services across the system, identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring operational efficiency.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- MD/DO with successful completion of anesthesiology residency
- Board certified/board eligible in anesthesiology
- Proven leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to manage and inspire a diverse team of anesthesia professionals in a clinical setting
- Strong strategic and operational management skills, with experience overseeing department budgets, staffing, and resource allocation
- Experience in all methods of anesthetic delivery including but not limited to intravenous/general, spinal, epidural, ultrasound guided regional anesthesia
- Experience in broad spectrum of clinical services- including but not limited to spine, joint replacement, minimally invasive surgery, maternal, endoscopic, diagnostic imaging
- Collaborate and coordinate with physicians, nurses, technicians and other healthcare providers in the assessment and management of patients throughout the peri-procedural encounter
- Must demonstrate good communication skills and an ability to work in team environment
Preferred Qualifications: 3-5 years of Chief/Director Leadership Experience
