• Works under the supervision of the PI and assists with maintaining sample preparation and lab organization to ensure efficient workflow and accuracy in experimental procedures.
• Under the supervision of Dr. Yamoah, sets up and performs a variety of lab tests and operations, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, and sequencing, ensuring compliance with established protocols for mouse husbandry care.
• Records laboratory results, makes observations, analyzes data, and interprets test results to contribute to the overall study objectives and research goals.
• Assists Dr. Yamoah and his team with refining, adapting, and developing procedures or techniques to optimize research outcomes and ensure methodological rigor.
• Records information and maintains logs of experimental data to ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation of the research in Dr. Yamoah's lab.
• Participates in the preparation of technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative results to communicate findings effectively with all team members of Dr. Yamoah's lab.
• Under supervision of Dr. Yamoah, collaborates in the development of new strategies, techniques, and equipment to advance research capabilities.
• Aids Dr. Yamoah and his team in writing methods and results sections for abstracts and publications to contribute to the dissemination of research findings.
• Assists Dr. Yamoah and his laboratory staff in basic mouse husbandry care and interpretation to support his overall study objectives and research goals.
• Coordinates the acquisition of lab supplies to ensure the smooth operation of research activities in Dr. Yamoah's lab.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner orally and in writing.
• Ability to set up and perform a variety of lab or field tests and operations.
• Research knowledge (internship, independent study).

• High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
• Three (3) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

* Bachelor's degree in biology or related field.

* Molecular biology experience.

* Experience with rodent surgery.

* Experience with recording results, making observations, analyzing data, and interpreting test results.
