Description Job title Behavior Specialist Reports to Director of Operations Position Summary RHD Connecticut (CT) is currently accepting application for a Full Time Behavior Specialist. The Behavior Specialist provides clinically oriented behavior support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or mental health diagnosis. The Behavior Specialist will work closely with our clinical, programmatic, residential and day support staff to develop holistic behavioral treatment plans that consider thoughts, feelings and behaviors of our participants within an interpersonal and systematic context. This systemic approach requires participation on a multidisciplinary team and the training of staff, families and caretakers. How You Can Make a Real Impact:

Essential Duties and Functions
- Conducts FBAs on all consumers.
- Develops and maintains Behavior Support Plan.
- Data collection and analysis.
- Knowledge of Department of Developmental Services regulations related to behavioral issues (PRC, HRC, URR, etc.)
- Completes URR, PRC/HRC packets and participates in reviews.
- Attends licensing reviews.
- Training and Modeling for Staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work effectively with staff and interdisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, special education or related field
- 3 years' experience working with individuals with disabilities
- DDS experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Products and Applications.
- Subject to employment screenings, including FBI clearance, if applicable.
- Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required.
Working conditions Works in an office setting. Requirements Physical requirements Must be able to sit, stand and move about in the performance of their work. Lifting Requirements
- Light: exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The use of arm and/or leg control requires force greater than sedentary, but worker still sits majority of time.

RHD Connecticut provides residential community living arrangements, day services, and individual rehabilitative supports to people who have developmental disabilities in the West and South regions in Connecticut. Currently RHD CT operates 10 CLAs, Continuous Residential Support programs and supports individuals who reside in apartments in the community.
