The Winston-Salem State University Educator Preparation Program (EPP) is committed to preparing effective teacher leaders who exemplify best practices in teaching, promote educational equity, and respect human differences. Winston-Salem State University prepares effective education professionals who are committed to community service, advocate for social justice, reflect on their practice, and are evidence driven and empathetic leaders.

• Adjunct Faculty will prepare and teach all course materials and lessons for significant courses in Birth through Kindergarten Education, Elementary Education, Middle Grades Education (Social Studies, Math, English/Language Arts, and Science), Special Education, Secondary Math Education, Secondary English Education, and Education Technology.
• Provide each student with clear course expectations, evaluations, timelines, and approved syllabi.
• Utilize evidence-based research in teaching and deliver engaging, relevant assignments that demonstrate learning outcomes to students.
• Will challenge, engage, serve, and communicate effectively with students to encourage their participation and learning, while maintaining mutual value and respect.
• Complete grade books, submit midterm and final grades.
• Submit syllabi, administer learning assessments, and final exams promptly.
• Respond to student questions in a timely manner.
• Ensure that course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus.
• Model professionalism and serve as role models for students in the professional, social, and civic spheres.
