Primary Purpose of the Position |
The Department of Education is seeking Adjunct Faculty for the 2025-2026 academic year to provide instruction for undergraduate and graduate-level courses in the following areas:
- Elementary Education
- Professional Education General Education
- Special Education

* Master's Degree or higher in Education or a closely related area, with a minimum of 18 graduate hours. All education must be documented from an appropriately accredited institution.
* NC Teaching License.
* Three years or more of teaching experience and related work experience. |

Describe the specific job duties related to this competency |
- Adjunct Faculty will prepare and teach all course materials and lessons for significant courses in Birth through Kindergarten Education, Elementary Education, Middle Grades Education (Social Studies, Math, English/Language Arts, and Science), Special Education, Secondary Math Education, Secondary English Education, and Education Technology.
- Provide each student with clear course expectations, evaluations, timelines, and approved syllabi.
- Utilize evidence-based research in teaching and deliver engaging, relevant assignments that demonstrate learning outcomes to students.
- Will challenge, engage, serve, and communicate effectively with students to encourage their participation and learning, while maintaining mutual value and respect.
- Complete grade books, submit midterm and final grades.
- Submit syllabi, administer learning assessments, and final exams promptly.
- Respond to student questions in a timely manner.
- Ensure that course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus.
- Model professionalism and serve as role models for students in the professional, social, and civic spheres.
