The Vice President, Medical Group Network Departments (VP) is a senior level executive position in the University of Vermont Health Network Medical Group (UVMHN MG), a partner organization within UVM Health Network. The primary focus of the position is to execute on Primary Care strategies, and support geriatric care, integrated within the broader system objectives to drive the organization to realize its key results and associated goals. This work is performed in collaboration with the Network Department Chairs of Family Medicine, Medicine and Psychiatry, as well as the Chiefs of General Internal Medicine, Palliative Care, and Geriatrics.

The incumbent is a flexible thinker with an innovation mindset. The VP is responsible for continuously improving patient access to care and information, with a critical focus on the patient experience, patient quality outcomes, advancing the academic missions of the departments throughout the network, and optimizing Network Department finances to positively contribute to the financial health of UVMHN. This work must be accomplished with a High Value Care mindset, within a Population Health strategy. In tandem with Department Chairs, the VP will foster a workplace with the Network Department(s) which supports efficiency and the wellbeing of staff and providers. The VP requires an expert ability to actively manage multiple priorities and employ independent critical thinking to align and prioritize the work.

With a centralized office in South Burlington, VT, this role is a highly visible partner to physician leadership, UVM Health executives, and community partners. Success in the VP Medical Group role requires the incumbent to live and work in the region we serve and to travel regularly to UVM Health partners and clinics in Vermont and northern New York. This position is eligible for a relocation package.

EDUCATION:
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Health Care Administration, Accounting or a related field. The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Health Care Administration, Business, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE:
Requires a minimum of ten years of progressive health care management experience, demonstrated leadership competency and experience in leading a physician practice, preferably in both a faculty practice and community practice setting.

Candidates with significant experience in Primary Care operations, particularly in similar rural healthcare systems to UVM Health, will be prioritized.

The ideal candidate will have evidence of continuous professional learning and growth including but not limited to formal training in leadership, change management, or a combination of similar experience.
