HJF is seeking a Research Nurse Coordinator to perform clinical research and ensure compliance of specified clinical research protocols for the Defense & Veterans Center for Integrative Pain Management (DVCIPM) and Center for Rehabilitation Sciences Research (CRSR) at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC).

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. Responsibilities

  • Thorough understanding of all protocols, case report forms and study binders. Reviews to support compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assists in developing the research question and assessing feasibility.
  • Prepares protocols for Institutional Review Boards (IRBs).
  • Implements the research protocol once approvals have been established.
  • Reviews and screens patients for eligibility for participating in research protocol.
  • Educates and consent the patients on the research protocol.
  • Data entry assuring a high level of accuracy within the database.
  • Participates in study record audits.
  • Assists in administering appropriate drugs/devices/infusions to patients as specified in protocols.
  • May be required to draw blood and obtain other specimens as specified in protocols.
  • Conducts patient follow-up as required.
  • May develop reports and presents clinical results at local and national meetings.
  • May complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of procedures and techniques necessary for performing clinical and research tasks.
  • Ability to learn and become proficient in data acquisition and clinical responsibilities related to research protocols.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to obtain and/or maintain a T3 secret clearance.

Physical Capabilities

  • Lifting: May assist patients after a clinical procedure.
  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.

Licenses and Certifications

  • LPN or RN license, certified in basic cardiac life support (BCLS).

Work Environment

  • This position will take place primarily in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation

  • The annual pay range for this position is $73,800-$82,000. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
