Principal Responsibilities and Expectations:

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking an Engineering Manager that work under general guidance and minimal supervision providing engineering oversite for the Renewables engineering team. This person will provide technical leadership and functional support focused on achieving IPS annual operating plan growth and operating objectives. This person will also develop and deploy technologies that advance the strategic vision and mission of IPS, establish uniform specifications and work standards, for wind generator and turbine in-shop repair and field service functions.

  • Ensure that IPS solutions meet customer expectations and applicable industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with operating policies and procedures.
  • Utilize Continuous Improvement Process Solution (CIPS) tools and Processes to deliver cont'd quality and productivity to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage engineering projects and personnel
  • Provide technical oversite and guidance for customers, repair shops, and field services
  • Responsible for Developing & Documenting Repair Solutions
  • Responsible for Creating Technical Bulletins and PowerPoints for customers & Sales Teams
  • Manage technical transfer of knowledge to other IPS Service Centers and maintaining a capabilities matrix
  • Participate in interpreting test results and performing RCFA on wind turbine components
  • Drive development of aftermarket repair procedures and work instructions
  • Participate in reverse engineering and redesign projects for various wind turbine components (generators, yaw systems, pitch systems, etc.)
  • Ensure that repairs meet customer expectations and applicable industry standards
  • Assist with implementation of quality improvement actions
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with operating policies and procedures
  • Actively participate in the IPS UCE tier meeting process
  • Utilize Continuous Improvement Process Solution (CIPS) tools and Processes

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • B.S. Engineering Degree preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in test, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of wind generators and turbines
  • Experience performing RCFA to determine failure mode and FMEA's
  • Ability to relate well with others in a professional and knowledgeable manner
  • Ability to prioritize and maintain high degree of organization
  • Poses excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 Suite
  • Must be willing to travel for up to 1-2 weeks per month primarily in the US but occasionally globally
