SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: This position is responsible for managing all aspects of large scale, complex, and significant engineering projects, including the implementation of new processes and installation of equipment for large- and mega- project investments. Serves as engineering leader on projects to ensure safe and proper installations that meet cost and schedule requirements and achieve the business objectives of the investment. Instructs, directs, and checks the work of other project engineers. Partners with EPC contractor, vendors, licensors, and other partners through engineering design phases including FEL2, FEL3, and detailed design to implement capital projects so they are completed on time and within budget. Performs project work and prepares and submits appropriation requests and purchase requisitions for plant capital projects. Identifies, manages, and proactively mitigates risks associated with the implementation of such projects. Position requires a broad scope of responsibility and high levels of initiative. REPORTING: Direct to Project Director. No direct reports. KEY RESULT AREAS: (Top 5 to 8 accountabilities) * Oversee activity of engineers, designers, contractors, vendors and outside engineering firms to ensure safe and proper installations in order to protect plant assets OTHER JOB DUTIES: * Project work including estimating costs, economic evaluation, specifying equipment, cost tracking, permitting, legislative compliance, developing contractor scope of work documents, construction supervision and start-up support, etc. Qualifications
EDUCATION: B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. EXPERIENCE: Minimum 10 years' experience in project management or in a project engineering role in the petrochemical industry. Project management certification a plus.
