Director ULD Control Logistics

Ensure that all Atlas flights operate safely and on time with properly certified and serviceable ULDs and related equipment.

Manage entire ULD Operation across all Business platforms for Atlas Air.
• Hire and guide staff in all aspects of ULD support. Create an environment focused on a big picture flexible approach, with empowered employees where reliability, accuracy, real time responsiveness and a personal approach are our credo
• Ensure that all Atlas, scheduled service, charter and applicable ACMI and AMC flights are supported on a 24/7 basis. Provide the proper allocation of certified equipment for all said flights
• Work with Atlas Air staff and Ground Handling Agents worldwide to see that the Operation runs efficiently and all Standard Operating Procedures are understood and met.
• Oversee the logistics of all ULDs and related equipment in support of our operation.
• Utilize and monitor the ULD tracking system and all Operational spreadsheets. Continuously tweak and improve these tools as needed and implement those changes in a seamless timely fashion.
• Leverage available tools and personnel to create and distribute reports on ULD usage, patterns and costs. Report on those trends and recommend solutions in areas that require improvement.
• Track the location of every Asset in real time
• Create an annual budget for Atlas Air
• Work with Procurement to negotiate, arrange and oversee all purchases of ULD and related equipment and arrange for distribution of said equipment
• Track all costs related to the provision and usage of ULDs Globally
• Log and approve all invoices related to ULD Operations, ensure accuracy and timely approval for all charges
• Comply with all regulatory bodies as applicable regarding ULD procurement, usage and maintenance
• Maintain, improve and expand existing Atlas Air ULD Repair Program while guaranteeing compliance to all FAA regulations
• Identify, evaluate and implement cost savings initiatives and improved service levels by vetting current and potential vendors and making changes and additions as necessary
• Communicate and work with all applicable internal departments who have a need for ULD information and support.
• Maintain expertise on the latest trends and technological advancements in the Industry
• Continuously support, identify, evaluate and implement key process improvement initiatives to improve overall service level
• Work in conjunction with all Customers to make sure we exceed their expectations.
• Adapt to last minute changes in the Operation
• Attend and be an active participant at Industry and in house conferences. Create new and maintain existing relationships in the Industry

• Ability to work in high pressure extremely time sensitive environment
• Ability to communicate accurately and succinctly throughout all levels internally and externally
• Multiple years of Airline Operational background (Atlas Air or Polar Air is helpful)
• Knowledge of AIMS, SABLE or Cargo Spot
• Computer Literacy (Excel, Word, Data Entry)
• Able to work dynamic flexible schedule with 24/7 availability
• College Degree

Salary Range: $108,000-$146,000
