Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Survey Technician - Manhole Inspection. In this role, you will assist in the inspection and assessment of manholes and underground utility structures, ensuring compliance with safety and infrastructure standards. You will work alongside experienced professionals to document conditions and support municipal and private-sector projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform visual and structural inspections of manholes, identifying defects, material conditions, and potential hazards.
  • Document findings through photographs, checklists, and digital reports for project records.
  • Use specialized inspection equipment such as pole cameras, gas detectors, and confined space monitoring tools.
  • Follow confined space entry procedures and adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Assist in the identification and reporting of maintenance or repair needs for underground structures.
  • Work with team members to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to underground infrastructure.
  • Maintain and properly store all inspection equipment, reporting malfunctions or required repairs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen due to the Federal projects associated with this role.
  • Must have a clean criminal background and driving record.
  • Ability to obtain Confined Space Entry certification upon hire (prior certification preferred).
  • Interest in infrastructure inspection, utilities, or construction safety.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow inspection protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable with standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
