Teamvantage, a Velosity Company is searching for an Accounting Associate (Payroll/AR) to support our manufacturing facility in Forest Lake, MN. This role performs accounting activities including customer invoicing, cash receipts, collections, payroll processing, product costing analysis, and some administrative tasks.

This is an on-site position supporting our Forest Lake location.

Shift: Monday-Friday, 8am - 4:30pm.

The typical pay range for this role: $26.00-$34.00 hourly. This role is also eligible for a 5% quarterly bonus target.

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography, internal equity and other relevant factors.

Essential Duties:

  • Accountable to accurately process customer invoicing daily for multiple locations and issue credit memos as needed.
  • Accountable for proactively conducting collection activities to minimize the amount outstanding; providing excellent customer service and building positive relationships.
  • Enter daily customer deposits information in IQMS and JobBoss.
  • Secure sales tax exemption certificates from each customer.
  • Prepare month end journal entries.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations as assigned.
  • Provide back-up support for payroll functions as needed, including:
    • Process bi-weekly payroll for Velosity using third party portal; review payroll registers for accuracy prior to finalizing payroll authorization. Accountable for timely and accurate payroll processing and reporting.
    • Upload retirement plan remittance reports for each payroll processed.
    • Process quarterly bonus payments as directed.
    • Enter journal entries to record biweekly payrolls, including end-of- month payroll accrual and subsequent month reversals.
    • Support annual retirement plan audit.
  • Accountable for Cost accounting duties as assigned by The Controller or CFO.
  • Other tasks assigned by a Velosity Controller or CFO.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED-General Studies
  • Minimum of associate's degree in accounting with bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in invoicing or receivable; preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Detailed oriented and can multitask; communicate with other departments, employees, and customers in a professional and respectful manner; intermediate Excel and Word skills.
  • Practical knowledge of accounting concepts and practices, familiar with ERP system attributes.
  • To be able to perform daily tasks accurately and within time constraints; To work independently with limited supervision; To deal tactfully with many people with varied personalities; Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee payroll data and to keep all types of company and personnel information confidential.

Physical & Mental Demands:

  • Walking is required within the office/shop areas. Sitting, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending, and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers are physical requirements. Must have correctable eyesight and good depth perception. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must be able REV 3/26/2025 to walk, sit and occasionally climb and balance.
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds and move objects in a safe manner using proper equipment. Must have dexterity with hands. * Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them within a timely manner (results oriented); Ability to make decisions with limited information.

Work Environment:

This is a non-smoking, professional manufacturing shop with normal lighting and climate control. This position may require one to move throughout the shop and office and may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors as would be customary in an injection molding/ Precision Machining shop.

Protective Clothing Required:

When in certain locations of the facility, eye and ear protection are required. Closed-toed/ Slip resistant shoes are also required in certain locations.
