Summary

Spire is seeking an enthusiastic, career minded undergraduate student to join our operation in Birmingham, AL. Our paid internship program affords students the opportunity to learn and be mentored. As an Intern, you may complete various projects and perform administrative duties while developing skills related to the assigned department and natural gas industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and complete projects based on departmental needs.
  • Work within various aspects of the pipeline management department including but not limited to, inspection work associated with new construction, replacement, relocation and reinforcement; compliance work, engineering, and permitting.
  • Accurate documentation of maps and measurements within the system.
  • Communicate project status and results to staff and management.
  • Perform administrative functions as needed in the office and field.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • None

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Must be a currently enrolled rising Junior or Senior or graduate student pursuing a degree in construction management, engineering, or relevant degree.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • Must have at least 1 year of general work experience.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required with most positions.

Physical demands, environment and schedule

  • Work environment will involve both office and field environments including uneven terrain, inclement weather and large equipment. Must have leather steel toe boots.
