About the opportunity

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking an Associate Project Controls Analyst to support our Project Controls Team companywide with a focus on supporting the SWCA Raleigh office. This is a full-time, regular (with benefits) hourly position and the candidate will typically work 40 hours per week, depending on workload. The preferred location for this position is Raleigh, NC, and hybrid work environment where you will work in the office a minimum of 2-3 days. Some projects will include overtime to meet deadlines.

What you will accomplish

  • Support Project Managers in project financial tracking, accounting, and record keeping.
  • Assist in project setup and review.
  • Contract review and execution.
  • Sub-consultant contracting and management.
  • Oversee budget tracking (i.e., labor, and other expenses, burn rate analysis, account receivables and payables, overruns and change orders), progress reports, invoice review, subcontract, and vendor invoice review.
  • Be responsible for file organization and documentation management, and project closeout.
  • Collaborate, communicate, and coordinate with project managers, other project control specialists and coordinators, and senior staff to pro-actively anticipate project needs.

Experience and qualifications for success

Required:

  • High School Diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in an administrative/organizational role involving contract/subcontract review, budget tracking, and invoice review.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS-Office, MS-Outlook, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Internet/Intranet technologies.
  • Within standard commuter distance to the SWCA office located in Cary, NC, and able to report to the office 2-3 days per week.

Preferred:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, environmental science, construction management, project management or a closely related field.
  • Previous project controls, project coordinator, or assistant project manager experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Deltek Vision or similar software.

An employee in this Raleigh, NC-based position can expect an hourly rate of $28.56/hour to $36.72/hr. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law. Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
