The Opportunity

Work shift: M-F 2:00PM -10:00PM. Available overtime. Mandatory overtimeonce a month.

As a Maintenance Tech III in the GenMark team, your main task is to support the development and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, instruments, fixtures, and tooling used in manufacturing, research, and development environments. Also, in this position you are:

  • Troubleshooting and adjusting as needed the Mechanical, Electrical and software-related issues on GenMark's ePlex Cartridge and Consumable manufacturing equipment and systems
  • Perform assigned Preventive Maintenance on production equipment as well as maintain manufacturing and R&D equipment and instruments to the manufacturers' specifications
  • Supporting Manufacturing Engineering group with continuous process improvement projects and recommendations to reduce scrap and recurring issues. Assisting with improving spare parts program and tooling needed to support manufacturing and R&D company needs
  • Training of junior technicians in the theory and operation of all equipment
  • Execute equipment validations (IQ/OQ) and documenting all activities following Good Documentation Practices.Documenting Equipment and Engineering activities in accordance to established procedures, company policies and FDA.
  • Assisting with special projects as requested and perform additional duties as assigned
Who you are
  • You hold a High School Diploma (required) with at least 5 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment OR an Associate degree with at least 3 years (preferred)
  • Your experience is focused on electro-mechanical equipmentrepair, troubleshooting, systems calibrations, and/ or preventive maintenance
  • Asset Database Management system experience required
  • Knowledge of CGMP, FDA 21 CFR-Part 820 required
  • Knowledge and experience with laboratory diagnostic instrument software and systems
Preferred behaviors, competencies, and qualities of the ideal applicant.
  • Experience using documents and quality control procedures, which include best practices
  • Experience with automated liquid reagent dispensing systems (Biodot, etc..) is a plus, as well as experience with surface modification (plasma, Corona, etc..) and spray coating & machine vision system (Cognex, Keyence, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving, judgment and decision-making skills. Strong quality-orientation with attention to detail.
  • Good facilitation, communication, teamwork, and task organizational skills

Relocation benefits are not available for this job position.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Carslbad, CA is 48,300.00 - 89,700.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.

This position may involve a combination of office and biotechnology laboratory environments. The employee may be exposed to hazardous chemicals, blood borne pathogens and automated equipment.

While performing the job duties, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee may sometimes be required to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
