Communication Electronics Maintenances Instructor
Camp Pendleton, CA Summary: The Communication Electronics Maintenance Instructor must have the knowledge, skills and attributes to implement and evaluate instruction on the operation, functional administration, configuration management, networking and maintenance of the communications system(s), subsystems and equipment controls; execution of diagnostic tests and interpretation of results; removal and installation of major components; determination if the system/subsystem is malfunctioning; isolation and location of malfunctions in the Line Replaceable Units (LRU); replacement of defective LRU's; troubleshooting and repair of system and subsystem malfunctions, and performance of routine preventative maintenance functions. The instructor will review and provide recommended changes to course curricula, lesson plans, student guides, and audio visual aids in support of lesson material and examinations. They will deliver instruction incident events identified for the Assault Amphibious Family of Vehicles (FOVs), and the associated training systems. Must be responsible for the upkeep of his or her assigned periods of instruction and other administrative tasks associated with maintenance of the communications curriculum(s). Basic Qualifications:
- Must be current USMC Swim Quall Intermediate, or capable of qualifying as such.
- Must have a current SVET qualification or capable of qualifying in the SVET.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior military experience within the armored vehicle community with an emphasis on 4 years experience in an Assault Amphibian Battalion as an operator, mechanic, or communicator.
- Prior military experience within the Stryker Combat Vehicle community as an operator, mechanic, or communicator.
- Preferred graduates of Instructor Development Course (IDC) and or Curriculum Developers Course (CDC). Prior Formal Learning Center experience is a plus.

Travel Required: Yes 25% Working Environment: The usual daily work conditions will be in an office environment located at Camp Pendleton CA. The job requires occasional lifting of computer and other equipment, generally not in excess of 50 lbs., usually in connection with equipment transport to off-site locations for exercise events. This job also requires field time where the instructor will be required to supervise students from the Vehicle Commanders Station of an ACV during field exercises in the land and on water. The Instructor will be required to wear all PPE for extended periods of time when in the field. The exercise support staff typically travels with a high degree of frequency. Travel to training exercise locations regularly includes CONUS, its territories, with occasional international travel. Exercise duty may include extended work periods beyond 12 hours; air travel in excess of 18 hours on a single aircraft; outdoor working conditions; and driving for extended periods to work sites.
