POSITION SUMMARY:

Utilize creative design skills to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate guests to venture out at Winter Park Resort. Create compelling visual designs by getting to know the Winter Park brand, audience, and marketing strategy. Plus, work with a variety of internal businesses, external partners, and across multiple platforms to effectively bring our brand and key messages to life.

Applicants should have a passion for the outdoor industry, demonstrate great attention to detail, and have a strong knowledge of proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) Figma and other design platforms for collaborative design and prototyping. This role will take design projects from concept to completion while serving as the graphic designer and production specialist. This includes photography selection, occasional copywriting, and the ability to work under quick-turn deadlines while problem-solving for multiple businesses, seasons, and business challenges. The ideal candidate for this role will be able to maintain their creativity while tackling a wide variety of projects including administrative demands. This role will report directly to the Brand Design Manager.

WAGE:

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of Winter Park Resorts' hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Winter Park Resorts' total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.

Hourly pay range: $26.50 - $31.00 (DOE)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Champion brand integrity by ensuring all creative assets align with Winter Park Resort's brand identity and sub-brand standards across print, digital, and environmental applications.
  • Drive business impact through creative execution, developing visually compelling campaigns that support revenue growth, product sales, and guest engagement.
  • Proactively identify and address brand inconsistencies, providing guidance to internal teams and external partners to maintain a cohesive brand presence.
  • Collaborate with the Brand Design Manager to refine, document, and uphold best practices for typography, color, imagery, iconography, messaging and brand standards.
  • Develop and maintain brand templates and asset libraries, ensuring ease of use for stakeholders while protecting brand consistency.
  • Lead the proofing and quality control process to minimize design errors, ensuring all creative meets brand standards before final sign-off by key stakeholders.
  • Partner with business unit leaders across departments (Marketing, Retail, Food & Beverage, Guest Services, etc.) to align design solutions with strategic objectives and audience needs.
  • Collaborate across departments (Marketing, Events, Sales, Lodging, Rental, HR, etc.) to create brand-consistent assets that effectively communicate business goals.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor branding strategies, and consumer touchpoints, identifying opportunities to enhance Winter Park Resort's brand experience.
  • Strategically enhance guest engagement by refining design elements that impact the guest journey across signage, digital content, advertising, and on-site collateral.
  • Oversee the execution of design projects from concept to completion, including ideation, approvals, versioning, production, and installation across various mediums.
  • Implement cross-channel brand applications, designing for digital, social, print, signage, TV, and web-based experiences to create a unified brand presence.
  • Develop and execute digital and print advertising assets, ensuring all marketing materials align with paid media strategies and the resort's consumer journey.
  • Ensure expert-level print production knowledge, applying best practices for signage, merchandise, and collateral across multiple touchpoints.
  • Cultivate and foster vendor relationships, manage print contracts, and ensure production quality aligns with brand expectations.


REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Strong understanding of advertising/media placement workflows and consumer-facing marketing.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with moderate supervision.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Uphold high creative and production standards across all outputs.
  • Proficient in design principles, including copy, typography, layout, and photography.
  • Strong understanding of file formats and optimization techniques for various platforms, including vector vs. raster, print vs. digital.
  • Prepare/export design files for web, print, and digital ads, using correct color profiles and resolution standards.
  • Manage file versioning and organization in Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and internal servers.
  • Ability to align creative work with marketing goals and strategies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with effective follow-up.
  • Open to both positive and constructive feedback.
  • Collaborative, with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to guest and employee satisfaction.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years progressive experience in graphic design role required.
  • Highly adept in use of Adobe Creative Suite with a developed portfolio of past graphic design work where the individual is the sole creator.
  • Computer skills needed include: email, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, html (bonus)
  • Passionate outdoor enthusiast with a love for the mountain lifestyle


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Indoor/Outdoor: This job is primarily inside, but may require some on-mountain work from time to time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to harsh and varying outside weather conditions.
  • Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate.
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal travel required and primarily in the local area.
  • Hours: This position may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
