What you'll be doing...

The Consumer Content and Partnerships team is responsible for connecting consumers with the content and experiences they love on the nation's best network. Content serves as a key driver in consumer decision making, and the role that content plays for our current and future customers is increasingly critical. As one of the largest direct-to-consumer platforms in the U.S., we have a massive opportunity to herald in the next consumer use cases for video, audio, immersive and live experiences. Our team sits at the center of that opportunity. We oversee all content partnerships, source opportunities and negotiate with a broad range of content and programming entities, including major broadcast and cable companies, sports leagues, emerging O&O platforms, OTT/digital providers, studios, retailers, and gaming developers.

You will partner with other internal teams to provide business intelligence through identifying the right data, conducting research and analyses, and providing insights to make recommendations and guide decision making. Plus, you'll come up with the best ways to share the data in dashboards, presentations, and written reports to suit the need and the audience.

Our team is seeking an experienced self-starter, someone who has great analytical skills, who can help our group with critical analysis needed in negotiating with our external content partners. The team's scope includes analysis such as drop analysis, go dark analysis, deal modelling, business case for deals and others, for both Fios and SVOD content. Additionally, the team will also provide analytics around DTC content, create self-serve tools (dashboards, queries etc), do ad-hoc data pulls for our content serving across Home and Mobility. The team also supports reporting to external partners, required per contractual commitments. This role will ensure that we serve these needs in a timely and efficient manner.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading deal modeling for content negotiations with Fios Linear TV partners as well as for select SVOD add-ons/inclusions.

  • Collaborating with the Consumer Content and Partnerships team to serve all analytics and business intelligence needs of the content group.

  • Undertaking drop analysis, go dark analysis, deal modeling for Fios TV and DTC content negotiations.

  • Conducting ad-hoc analysis to provide insights into business and support reporting.

  • Maintaining existing self-serve tools for content team.

  • Acting as liaison with Verizon Consumer Group finance for anything related to analytics/business cases.

  • Providing analytical expertise to the content team.

  • Finding opportunities to improve existing processes and tool/systems in use.

  • Partnering with other analytics group (VSG Impact Analytics, VIVA, DENA) to collaborate on best approach to serve our group's analytics needs.

  • Performing advanced analytics, modeling and data mining to develop insights on our business.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Experience with creating business models and data analytics.

  • Experienced in the use of SQL based Database Tools including; Teradata/Toad/GCP/Hadoop.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or Math.

  • Master's degree in a quantitative field.

  • Experience with analytics tools such as ThoughtSpot, Tableau, Knime, Qlik, and other reporting tools.

  • Experience with visualization tools such as Thinkcell.

  • Balance the needs of multiple partners.

  • Product development or analytics experience in the technology sector.

  • Subject matter expertise in the telecommunications and/or media/entertainment businesses.

  • Business Intelligence Certification.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $101,000.00 and $188,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
