Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Lead Dental Assistant within the Clinical Affairs Department at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine ( RSDM).

Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, the Lead Dental Assistant assists in the day-to-day clinic operations of the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine dispensaries, special events and ICD Programs. The Lead Dental Assistant also handles assigned projects and ensures that all needed supplies and equipment are available for clinical operations.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Dispenses supplies and equipment to dental students at dispensary window in a smooth and timely fashion.
  • Conducts daily swab testing of dental units for pre and post-doctoral programs.
  • Works with supervisor to oversee smooth flow of special events, ICD Programs, freshman and sophomore rotation and Mock Exams.
  • Informs Program Coordinator when chemical waste pick-up is needed.
  • Ensures proper coverage of auxiliary staff, when staff calls out sick, providing lunch and late coverage.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience

  • Satisfactory completion of a formal dental assisting program in an ADA approved program.
  • Licensed as a Certified Dental Assistant in the State of New Jersey.
  • Must possess a valid Dental Radiographic Technology license issued by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection.
  • Must have two (2) years prior experience as a Dental Assistant.
  • Certification in CPR.

Certifications/Licenses

  • Licensed as a Certified Dental Assistant in the State of New Jersey.
  • Must possess a valid Dental Radiographic Technology license issued by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection.
  • Certification in CPR.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a lead dental assistant, office/center coordinator is preferred.
