Pay Range: Actual pay may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for incentive compensation.

Job Summary

The Portfolio Management Analyst supports the optimization and execution of our Technology portfolio. This role is responsible for assisting in the prioritization, tracking, and reporting of key portfolio initiatives while ensuring alignment with business objectives. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, experience working with data and visualization to support decision-making, and the ability to support governance and portfolio processes effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Portfolio Support & Execution



  • Support the intake and prioritization process for Technology portfolio initiatives, ensuring data accuracy and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Assist in maintaining a multi-year roadmap that reflects the Technology portfolio and its alignment with business priorities.
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners to ensure portfolio processes are followed and properly documented.


Portfolio Governance & Reporting



  • Support governance processes by ensuring portfolio data is up to date and meets reporting standards.
  • Prepare materials for portfolio reviews, including performance tracking, financial reporting, and capacity analysis.
  • Track execution progress, identify dependencies, and escalate risks as necessary to portfolio leadership.


Performance Metrics & Data Analysis



  • Assist in tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure portfolio performance, resource utilization, and return on investment.
  • Analyze data from portfolio tools to provide insights and recommendations to leadership.
  • Support post-implementation reviews by compiling data and documenting key findings for continuous improvement.


Capacity & Resource Management



  • Support resource tracking efforts, ensuring visibility into capacity constraints and workload distribution.
  • Work closely with Technology leaders to document resource allocations and recommend adjustments where necessary.


Stakeholder Engagement & Communication



  • Collaborate with teams across Technology and Business functions to support portfolio coordination and alignment.
  • Provide clear and concise updates on portfolio status to key stakeholders.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations and reports on portfolio health and outcomes.


Storytelling, Visualization and Optimization



  • This role will be supporting Technology leaders in communicating progress and laying out options for decision-making. Transform data to insights through storytelling and visualization.
  • Support in identifying opportunities to optimize how Technology Portfolio Management is conducted and iterated at Sorenson.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Travel Requirements

Travel Requirements: Less than 25%

Education

Minimum/Preferred: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience

5 Years experience in portfolio management, program management, business analysis, or related roles.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data analysis, reporting, and visualization / communication (Excel and PowerBI required)
  • Experience working with portfolio management tools (e.g., Jira or similar platforms).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets to generate insights.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders. Powerpoint experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of portfolio governance and prioritization frameworks.
  • Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment within a Technology or Business team.


Additional Knowledge & Skills (Desired but Not Required):



  • Basic financial analysis skills related to budgeting and investment tracking.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and frameworks.
  • Certifications in SAFe Agile, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma (a plus).
