Production Intern

Nature and Scope

We are seeking a motivated Manufacturing Intern to support our operations by improving inventory tracking, compliance, and process efficiency. The intern will work closely with the manufacturing team to develop and implement systems that enhance material control and workflow visibility while ensuring compliance with audit expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop a tracking system to monitor inventory levels and prevent material shortages that could impact daily operations.
• Implement a Kanban system to enhance material visibility and reduce errors in equipment preparation and usage in the formulation area.
• Conduct daily and weekly inspections to ensure compliance with manufacturing standards and maintain readiness for audits.
• Assist in process improvement initiatives to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
• Utilize Microsoft Word and Excel to document inventory data, track progress, and generate reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure continuous improvement in material management and compliance.
• Perform any other tasks/duties as assigned by management.

Education Requirements and Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or a related field (Minimum 2 years of college experience required).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) for documentation and data analysis.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow compliance guidelines.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., Kanban, 5S, Continuous Improvement).
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or inventory control setting (preferred but not required).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Environment and Requirements

• Physically able to wear cleanroom/protective gowning and equipment, including but not limited to gowning, goggles, face shields, respirators, and protective gloves. The necessity for PPE and respirators is contingent upon departmental functions and requirements.

Expected Hourly Range:

$20.00 - $22.00

The hourly range displayed is the minimum and maximum hourly range of compensation for the role that the employer in good faith believes to be accurate at the time of the posting of an advertisement for the role. Actual compensation for the role will be based on a number of different factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, knowledge, skills and experience.
