THE ROLE:

AMD is seeking an experienced Program Manager / Senior Manager with experience in, and understanding of, computer systems architectures who will maintain and enhance a top-level BOM system for all AMD products. This Program Manager / Senior Manager will interact with Design, Finance Accounting and Royalty Management, Supply Planning, Product Engineering, Procurement, Product Data Management and the Design for Cost Team.

THE PERSON:

The person in this role will have access to, and have impact upon, multiple systems across AMD to maintain, continually update, and provide output from a database that links multiple functions to the fundamental structures of all AMD products. Initial and ongoing training will be provided; however, the person applying for this role needs to have (1) an abiding sense of curiosity leading them to be able to have a correct understanding of current and advanced semiconductor-based systems, and (2) an ability to engender trust across multiple organizations through clear, open interactions and constructive feedback.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Maintain the Product Configuration Database including addition of new products, updates on existing products.

* Provide product change updates to Planning Parameters system before quarterly input cycles.

* Work with Product Engineering, Cost Managers, Design and other functions as necessary to name product configurations and major BOM elements consistent with the Product Naming Specification.

* Request Product Family and Product Sub Family assignments as needed from the manufacturing system.

* Release regular updates of the Product Configuration Database and provide a summary of changes to affected organizations.

* Work with Product Cost System Engineers to automate Product Configuration Database creation, checking and release cycles.

* Represent the Cost Team in maintaining and updating Product Configuration elements for new product requirements.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

* semiconductor work experience.

* Design or Product Engineering.

* Database requirements knowledge.

* Working across multiple organizations.

* Exposure to ASIC, Board and Electronic System Manufacturing.

* Familiarity with program management tools and processes.

* Problem solving with applied communications and presentation ability.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline. Financial and Semiconductor Manufacturing experience or training a plus.
