National Grid is hiring a Principal Program Manager, Emergency Planningfor Massachusetts. This is a Hybrid Role - Must live within a commutable distance to one of our locations

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Director of New England Emergency Planning, working in collaboration across all business units in New England and New York to ensure response readiness to any service disruption event. This role will primarily supervise and engage in collaborative training and exercise project management with the Gas and Electric commodity business units while adhering to regulatory requirements. The Manager will also have responsibility for additional training and exercise within the Cyber Emergency Planning function.

Key Accountabilities
  • Maintain regulatory compliance with all local, state and federal mandates.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to each of the Training & Exercise Program members.
  • Raise the awareness of programmatic efforts, compliance and successes to the leadership level.
  • Work collaboratively across all Emergency Planning groups to coordinate and develop training and exercise content for employees at all management levels.
  • Coordinate efforts across commodities and jurisdictions to provide enhanced value to all Emergency Response Organizations through advocating expansion of the Training and Exercise Programs in adherence to the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program. Actively support program outreach to external stakeholders at the local, county, state and federal levels.
  • Responsible for completion and compliance reporting of all regulatory training and exercising requirements within the scope of the Training & Exercise Programs.
  • Establish, maintain and report programmatic key performance indicators.
  • Support any/all Emergency Planning activities for actual events at emergency operations centers or local on-scene locations.
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
  • Proficient in developing and growing successful, collaborative and supportive relationships with others.
  • Coordinate with multiple business units to ensure their emergency response readiness.
  • Skilled at stakeholder engagement, developing presentations for multiple audience levels, and producing performance reports.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or 5+ years direct Certificate studies in Emergency Management, Teaching or associated work experience equivalency.
  • 4+ years of job-related experience.
  • Experience using the Incident Command System.
  • Knowledgeable of the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program preferred.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work beyond normal scheduled business hours as needed and in support of emergency response.
  • Ability to travel throughout both Massachusetts and New York jurisdictions and all service regions.

Salary - $153,000 - $180,000
